SOME SUCCESS
I did not run on my treadmill at all. We did not have a fire at all in either of our fireplaces. Haven't run the dishwasher since wednesday. We had to use the chainsaw to cut wood and i have been using a computer basically all weekend.

save energy
WAYS WE ALREADY SAVE ENERGY
TURNING LIGHTS OFF WHEN LEAVING THE ROOM
WE USE CEILING FANS
WE ALWAYS CARPOOL WHEN POSSIBLE
UNPLUGGING UNUSED APPLIANCES
USING RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
WHAT CAN I DO
Run outside instead of on treadmill
Use fireplace to heat
only run dishwasher when full
don't use chainsaw to cut firewood
do homework on paper instead of computer

Visualization
The nearest volcano was a fair distance away. The only way to get there in time was to sail again. They decided that it was well worth the risk and set off on a new raft made out of one giant piece of bark. After sailing for a little bit, they see another boat out on the water. The uncle uses binoculars and sees that the boat has ten foot tall prehistoric people on it. As the group makes it to the volcano they see that it had just stopped erupting. The three end up sitting on a giant rock inside it anyway. Then the volcano erupts again shooting the rock out. Hans grabs the nephew and uncle because the passage is getting smaller. A large rock off to the side nearly smashes the nephew off the rock, but since Hans is already holding him, he can stay on. When they come out of the volcano they slide down a grape farm in Italy. The whole group makes an amazing discovery, they are not in Antarctica like there compass said they should be.
Prediction
When the group discovers that they are on shore, the nephew makes the most important discover of the expedition. The dead body of the first guy who reached the center of the earth. His knife had his name inscribed on it. Arne Saknussemm. With that discovery the group decided it was too dangerous and need to find a way out. Thinking the only way to escape is through another volcano, they try to locate the nearest one.
My prediction is that something is bound to go wrong. Nothing good has ever come out of a volcano. I thought that the nephew and uncle would probably get in trouble and the guide would have to save them again.
Connection to the world
As they continue sailing they run into a storm and the boat ends up sinking, but somehow the three of them are thrown to shore. This means that my earlier prediction was half right.
Storms often take many people by surprise. Even with current weather predicting technology there are boats sunk each year off the coast of Maine. There are even more in the Bermuda triangle.
Visualization
When they started out on the open water, a long dark shape started to follow them. A creature like the Loch Ness monster pops out of the sea and starts to attack them. When you think their luck can not get any worse, a second sea monster pops out. This one looked like a dolphin, but larger with sharp teeth. The two creatures started to fight over who gets to eat the boat and the people on it. When the creatures are fighting, the people make a get away.
I could easily imagine this dino combat like when my grandma and my dog fought over the turkey leg last Thanksgiving. Two strange creatures biting each other while the turkey leg escapes.
